Running into a small problem with a Ranco Temperature Probe. Either the probe diameter is a bit too large or the opening in my thermowell is a bit too small. It's been suggested that I sand down the probe a little. Anyone have any experience with that? I'm assuming a fine grit sand paper and taking care not to sand too far would be key. Thoughts?

I had an issue with one of my Ranco probes and I used a drill bit to drill out a bit of thermowell. It was still a little tight, but fit okay.
